It is a single star rather than a binary star, among the most massive 10% of nearby stars, has about 50% more heavy elements than other stars of its age and type, and only 33% of their variation in brightness. All these factors are necessary to enable our lives on Earth. Approximately 99.9% of all the matter in the solar system is inside the Sun.
