Monthly Meetings
BAS monthly meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month at the BCC Planetarium and Observatory in Cocoa, FL. Meetings begin at 7:00 pm and are conducted inside the Planetarium. Our meetings are both informative and enjoyable, with a mix of informal discussions of recent observing sessions, which sky objects are currently viewable, and structured presentations by a featured speaker on an interesting topic related to astronomy. Directions to the BCC Planetarium (from the North)
- Take S.R. 528 (the Beeline) to U.S. 1 intersection
- Go South on U.S. 1 to the first traffic signal at Michigan Avenue.
- Turn right onto Michigan Ave. and travel to the first traffic signal at Clearlake Road.
- Turn left onto Clearlake Rd. and travel to the first traffic signal at Rosetine Street.
- Turn right onto Rosetine St. and travel approximately 0.5 mile. Look for baseball fields on the left and tennis courts on the right.
- Turn right at the BCC Planetarium sign and go straight back as far as you can. Park near the big science-fiction style building and use the door nearest the lake.
Directions to the BCC Planetarium (from the South)
- Take I-95 to the S.R. 520 Exit. Go East on S.R. 520 to Clearlake Road.
- Turn left onto Clearlake Rd. and go North to Rosetine Street.
- Turn left onto Rosetine St. and travel approximately 0.5 mile. Look for baseball fields on the left and tennis courts on the right.
- Turn right at the BCC Planetarium sign and go straight back as far as you can. Park near the big science-fiction style building and use the door nearest the lake.
